Kalvin has spent most of his life in the Pacific Northwest. He began his career at Microsoft in 1998 after earning a degree in Accounting, and went on to spend 24 years with the company. During his tenure, he led teams supporting Microsoft’s worldwide finance reporting platforms, including revenue reporting, financial reporting, and planning and forecasting systems. His work spanned business operations, data management, infrastructure support, and other critical functions.

Following his time at Microsoft, Kalvin has contributed to several startups, including a mobile golf application that has supported charity tournaments raising tens of thousands of dollars for organizations such as Teen Cancer America, the Snohomish K9 Foundation, and the Benaroya Research Institute. He has also been involved in building a mid-market trade screening solution that leverages RPA, AI, and a distributed workforce to deliver real-time analysis of prospective customers, helping organizations comply with U.S. regulatory standards including OFAC, BIS/EAR, and ITAR.

Outside of work, Kalvin is an avid golfer with an 8 handicap who regularly competes in men’s club events at Redmond Ridge. Since 2020, he has also developed a passion for baking, teaching himself to craft sourdough bread, baguettes, bagels, and pizza. He is also a collector of music and rare Japanese whisky.
